Feel Free to Call Me "The Oracle"

Give me a second, I’m having a prophetic vision.

The breezes get cooler, the leaves shift into burnt hues, and spices coil through the air. Trading August for autumn, we usher in a fresh array of fabrics, accessories, and beauty routines. Are you ready for my 2024 fall trend predictions?

What’s this season’s palette

While the same selection of deep, warm colors is typically a staple of the fall season, this year I’ve noticed a particular interest in dark browns, olive green, and burgundy.

What’s this season’s texture?

Overall, the fabric that you’ll see absolutely everywhere this fall is suede. Of course, this isn’t a surprise or a new concept. Fall and suede are as complementary as salt and pepper. This year, however, I predict an increase in suede jackets, whether that’s trenches or chore coats, boots, ballerinas, and bags. For my friends on the equator, suede is just as applicable via accessories and detailing.

What’s this season’s bag?

Specifically, this sort of buckled bowling bag will be big this season. Miu Miu has the "it" bag of autumn, but Reformation, DeMellier, and even Zara have some great (and in my opinion, more timeless) alternatives.

What’s this season’s structure?

Honestly, I’ve seen quite a bit of structured blazers, just as we have the past couple of years. My favorite way to style them right now is by pairing their strong structure with delicate fabrics and ruffles.

What’s this season’s style?

I’ve seen somewhat of a resurgence of this late 2000s runway model chic, an air of Kate Moss with the delicate pairing of Isabel Marant. If you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, this is more or less the gist of it:

What’s this season’s hairstyle?

Coming back to Isabel Marant, I believe this season’s hairstyle to be nothing other than a messy French braid. If you don’t know how to do one, don’t worry, we’re in the same boat. A slightly undone, regular braid will do just fine.

But of course, trends are just that: trends. They come and they go, and soon enough, they're forgotten. Wear whatever you want this season, and the next! Personally, this is my fall 2024 inspo board:

That’s all I’ve got for this season. I might’ve missed some, or even falsely predicted others, but I guess only time will tell.

Talk to you soon,

The Oracle
